2017Shining Legends brought the Shining Pokémon idea into the Sun & Moon era. The Japanese expansion launched on July 15, 2017, with eight Shining Pokémon among its cards. Celebi appears here as 004/072, with Sanosuke Sakuma drawing its pink shiny form against orange rays, bubbles, and stars.
The special surface puts the emphasis on Celebi itself, continuing the visual idea of a Pokémon that catches light within a still illustration. Its Time Recall Ability offers another link to the past: evolved Pokémon can use attacks from their previous Evolutions. That combination gives the time-travel theme a role in both artwork and play.
