EVERY CARD HAS A STORY

More than
a little artwork.

2001

The English Southern Islands collection arrived during the Neo era in 2001. Its eighteen cards came together in a binder with six illustrated postcards. Mew shares the Sky postcard scene with Pidgeot and Onix, so its small picture belongs to a much larger island view.

Keiko Fukuyama paints a pink Mew floating through a rainbow sky, with Pidgeot's yellow wing and a small Charizard at the picture's edges. This English 1/18 printing surrounds the matte illustration with purple Cosmos reverse foil. Large circular and star-like reflections catch the light across the name and attack area while the yellow outer border stays plain.

Little things to notice.

  1. 01

This is a normal pink Mew. A reflective card finish does not make the Pokémon Shiny.

  2. 02

The artwork includes a Pidgeot wing and a small Charizard, connecting Mew's picture to the larger Sky scene.

  3. 03

Rainbow Wave deals 20 damage to each opposing Pokémon that shares the chosen attached Energy's type, including the Bench. Colorless Energy cannot be chosen.

  4. 04

The printed collector number is 1/18, and the illustration credit names Keiko Fukuyama.

  5. 05

Reverse holo describes where the reflective layer sits: on the card body around the illustration rather than inside the painted sky.

About these prices and sources

These are researched public records, not a live feed or an appraisal of this particular copy. Published guide estimates and completed sales are shown separately. The latest located sale is the newest matching record in this notebook, not a claim that every marketplace has been searched. A sale's source may include a buyer's premium; shipping and tax depend on that source.

These dated English-printing comparables are historical records, not current estimates. PSA amounts retain the source table's rounding. No raw, Beckett or other-grade price has been inferred, and no Japanese sale is substituted.

Prices for raw cards vary with condition. Grading companies and label tiers are kept separate; no price is calculated by applying a multiplier to another grade.
